I have not felt very creative lately!

I have been in a creative slump for the past month and a half or so! I need some inspiration or something! I am starting to feel the desire to paint again – I’m just not sure what I want to paint. I think I want to try something new and maybe try to do more than one painting with a similar theme. The other option is to Paint a really big Canvas. I have always wanted to make my own custom canvas. That could be fun! I just need some inspiration on what I should do! Any ideas are welcome!

The first Art Show that I have been part of!

So tonight was my first art show that I had a piece of art in. It was an amazing event. my friend Promise put together the show at her church (Cornerstone Chandler) and it was so cool. There must have been a couple of hundred people there and it was a silent auction format. There was live music and a live painting, great deserts and coffee. The diversity of art was very cool. There were a couple of pieces that I just loved and some that were not as appealing to me. 

So I was a little nervous about putting my art in a public setting for people to look at, evaluate and hopefully enjoy. I have never taken art classes or had any training of any sort – it is something that I do as a stress relief and way to get the creative side of my brain working. It feels very personal to me, so this was a really streaching event for me. A healthy event! 

I think the coolest thing about it was the fact that there were so many people out to enjoy art on their Saturday night. It is really neat to see the various ways that people express themselves.I think my friend Brian said it so well, “People enjoy art and it has been missed in our culture.” Well said Brian! I was so impressed with the turnout and the quality of art and was so proud of Promise for putting together such a great event.

Shawn Tyler Gray is a singer song writer as well as worship director at Rock Point Church! I think he has one one of those voices that just makes you want to listen and sing along! He is incredibly talented and creative in his writing. In addition to being an amazing artist he is also a really good friend and loves the Lord with everything he is!

She is great to work with. Amy and I did an all day photo shoot with and her husband John and It was a blast! I traditionally have not enjoyed taking pictures, but Ashley is so talented and fun that I felt comfortable and actually had a great time!

Are there any new movies worth watching?

I don’t know what the deal is. I just can not find a movie that I can get into lately. Now it may be just me, but I think the quality level of movies lately has dramatically diminished. It seems like they are less creative and do not have the quality of story that really intrigue and capture imagination. I love good art and really love to escape into movies for a good laugh, adventure or drama. I even enjoy a good musical! It just seems like all comedies are going for the cheap laugh – nothing intelligent. It seems like dramas are absent from good stories. It feels like action films are either a sequel or remake of a movie already made! I need more from hollywood! If you have an opinion please weigh in!

An old poem that I found….

I found an old journal of mine with a bunch of random writing. I used to write poetry – I have not in a long time. This poem was one I wrote at the time that I was about to get married. Uncontrollably spinning off

Oops I caught a glimps of my self

     spinnning off….

Can it be that you know me?

All of the good and the bad

Somewhere with purpose

I must stop to see – me.

Where did it go? Where did it go?

    Where did the emotional high and low go?

“Maturity” then she smiles then hands me a card.

Hello World!

This is my first blogging experience – and I’m a little nervous to put myself out to the world! There are a couple of things that I wish to commit you you as we engage together through life’s issues.
